  • Of Go-Karts & Festivals

Hello to everyone, hope your life is going as well as mine is.  I had a very nice weekend. It was the first time i got to relax since we got back from Isreal and i was exhausted.  Saturday afternoon a group of us went go-karting.  It was alot of fun. I had only gone once before in the states.  The go-karts we got supposedly went up to 90k which i am told is roughtly 45-50mph.

    go Kart 059

Saturday night the four of us who go to the English Centre for ministry nights plus Lorita went with some of the Centre people to a Buddhist Festival. If i understand it is to release bad luck/sin/or something and bring good luck. so they send these lantern/air balloon type of things. It was beautiful but very sad.  There were so many people there. they estimate around 10,000 people come out.

  • Isreal!!

So i had the incredible opportunity to spend 12 days in Isreal! It was a great experience. A group of 8 of us went.  We spent the first weekend in Jerusalem.  I am not sure what i was expecting but it was alot different. It was beautiful. After that we spent the week in Palestine. We helped teach english twice and the rest of the time we basically spent time interacting with the people. We then spent the next weekend back in Jerusalem and then flew back on Monday November 3.  It was really neat to be able to see cities and towns were Jesus walked.  Seeing the huge churches built different places and seeing the people in the churches weeping and kissing the place Jesus may have been buried made me rather sad. I don't believe that is what He wants us to see, i believe he wants us to see victory and life.  The churches felt very reverent but not extremely joyful. ....some pics

The one day we had the opportunity to visit a bedouin camp.  This man's name Abraham and believe or not his wife's name is Sarah.  This little girl was maybe his granddaughter but she was so cute she just started leading the donkey around. she was only about 2 1/2.

A palestine meal a few of us got to eat. It wasn't too bad except for the fact that some of us had already filled our stomachs and the dear lady pilled our plates high with food. this is my plate after gloria took a bunch off.

so anyway we had alot of fun....it was a growing, stretching experience

  • Visiting Cambodia

Hello Everyone, well life in Asia is great. I got back to thailand around 7:30 this morning. My group left Cambodia Friday morning around 8 am or so. I think i can safely say we all had a great time. We left Thailand September 17 and were in Cambodia for about a week. Basically we toured during the day and then each evening we spent about an hour teaching English. There were three classes. Michael and I taught the beginners class. It was alot of fun. Rather then bore you all with facts i'll just post some pics..
